Kanye West vs 50 cent

War has been declared. Though subtle, I sense along with alot of you a Cold-War going on between the fashion savvy every day male persona of Kanye and the Gangster dog eat dog mentality of 50 cent. Both are successful talented artists,multi-platinum rappers with drive.
The question at hand is which drive is best for hip hop.
On one hand you have 50 cent, very business oriented. A person that will stop at nothing to get where he wants to be. The title of his debut album says it all "Get Rich or Die Tryin",let it simmer a bit. At first thought I took it to be a hustlers theme,a slogan for the career criminal.
However after further thought I came to the conclusion that the title embodies the very essence of Curtis Jackson aka 50 cent.
A person that believes monetary success is so important that he would risk his life for it.
Not only has he been shot, but considers it a rite of passage if your from the "hood".
A thug to the ignorant masses, but a coward and a police informant.
With careful listening one could here the subliminal dry snitching over and over about Kenneth "Supreme"McGriff.
Rumour has it that because of his friendship with the police, he has been forced out of Queens.NY. He currently lives in Farmington,CT.
50 cent has shown a desperate need off being in the spot light, such as his post Karina remarks
about Kanye West's political stance.
Saying " Katrina was a act of God, F.E.M.A responded the best way that they could, what Kanye said I don't know where that came from".
Sometimes it seems as if with every record 50 cent sales a piece of his soul goes with it.
On the other hand you have Kanye West, this guy single handily brought hip-hop back.
With only two albums to date he has garnered 6 grammys and countless rewards. Though very cocky he backs up every bit with powerful thought provoking albums.
He strays away from gangster themes and pushes for more ground breaking singles, such as
Jesus Walks,All Falls Down and Diamonds From Sierra Leone.
He shocked the world when he made his infamous comment which has become a slogan in black America. "George Bush Does Not Care About Black People".
He has reminded us time and time again that he is only human. Which is probably why we are in such awe when he does the impossible with every album.

Ok, you guy sits up to you when it comes to Hip-Hop who do you choose to carry the torch?
